Poema del Mar Aquarium

Yesterday, we enjoyed a fantastic morning out. We learnt a lot from our expert guide about the species, habitats and characteristics of the creatures, as well as learning about the wonderful conservation programme. All of the children were enthusiastic and interested, they enjoyed taking part in an educational workshop.I hope they have told you some of the new facts they have learnt. Enjoy the photos!

Exploring Creepy Crawlies!

In Science this week, we borrowed some Arthropods (invertebrates with an exoskeleton, a segmented body, pairs of legs; including insects, arachnids, myriapods and crustaceans) from theSecondary Biology department. We had a great time observing, drawing, spotting characteristics, similarities and differences between the different arthropods.

Most children are already working on their project at home and some have even brought in a page or two to show me. Remember the project must be in the children's own words, so that they show that they fully understand the information they have found out, and have ownership. We have practised this in class when the children researched a European capital city.
Focus on the important parts that really interest the children, anything complicated or uninteresting to them, just leave it out!
